Boys' Soccer vs ACES at Chase

Coach Merrill
The Country School boys had a 1-5 loss yesterday, but their spirit and determination never wavered during the 60 minute game without subs. We were missing many of our older more experienced players, but the 5th graders stepped up and did their best to fill very big shoes.

Our defense was led by the quick and tireless Captain Connor who maintained his composure as he weaved through Aces’ top players and fired the ball up to Captain Keve.  Keve was adamant about playing striker and gave his all to the position, scoring one for the Owls.  Unfortunately, Aces fired back leaving Keve less opportunity to find space or more scoring moments.

It was a tough defeat for our boys, but we know that there is a lot to learn from a loss.  We are a stronger team because of it.  Big thanks to our 5th graders who showed a lot of bravery stepping onto a pitch filled with older (and bigger) players. The fire in their eyes was awesome to see! We are very pleased by how much improvement we are seeing week to week with all our players.  We look forward to more great soccer.
