  • Assistant Director of Admission

    The Country School is seeking a half-time Assistant Director of Admission to begin July 2024 to support an independent, co-educational day school. Salaries and benefits are competitive.
     
    The Assistant Director of Admission reports to the Head of School and the Director of Admission. Responsibilities include the following:
    • Work with Families and Admissions Logistics
    • Tour families daily and at Open Houses and other on-campus events.
    • Coordinate and oversee the program of admissions of new students to the school.
    • Show a commitment to the issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
    • Communicate with candidates and their parents.
    • Track correspondence and touch-points with families in the admission process
    • Enter prospective admissions families in the BlackBaud system.
    • Help interview candidates and their parents.
    • Help arrange for admissions testing.
    • Assist in securing necessary student credentials.
    • After a student’s visit to campus, gather work samples and teacher review sheets.
    • Keep relevant statistics on all aspects of the admission and re-enrollment program and run reports on Blackbaud.
     
    Outreach and Marketing
    • Plan Open House and on-campus and off-campus recruitment events.
    • Plan and execute programs that enhance public perception of the school.
    • Initiate and lead activities intended to interest parents in sending students to The Country School
    • Maintain oversight of the admissions page of the website.
    • Help identify emerging marketing strategies and test their effectiveness and report on their results.
    • Help design and place advertisements.
    • Help create and produce appropriate admissions and marketing materials, mailings and publications.
    • Maintain and add to and keep current the outreach mailing lists, such as realtors and early learning centers.
    • Run labels and stuff envelopes for admissions outreach and recruitment activities.
    • Develop and implement a strategic plan to increase alumni, parent of alumni, and current parent support of, and involvement in, the school.
    • Represent the school at various gatherings and conferences.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the head of school and director of admission.

    3. Detail-oriented, organized and resourceful
    4. Experience with Blackbaud and/or other admissions software preferred but not required

  • Kindergarten-4th Grade Elementary School Teachers

    Thanks to our growing enrollment, The Country School is seeking Elementary School Teachers for potential openings in our K-4 Lower and Intermediate School Divisions.

    Ideal candidates for these positions will:
    • demonstrate mastery of instructional skills and assessment and teaching young learners language arts and mathematics
    • engage in cross-disciplinary STEAM units
    • support the organizational, academic, and emotional needs of students
    • show a commitment to the issues of diversity, inclusion, and equity
    • be comfortable with appropriate technology in the classroom
    • work collaboratively with other faculty members
    • commit to their own professional growth and reflection
    We seek teachers who have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree; although, a master’s degree is preferred.

  • Financial/Database Manager

    Job Description
    • Oversees Blackbaud database and student information systems: K-12 Education
    • Works with the accounting manager and CFO on payroll, benefits and human resources functions, contract issuance, reenrollment, management, billing, and collections
    • Supports the development team with gift recording, reporting, reconciling, and analyzing
    • Serves as registrar on inquiry, enrollment, matriculation, and secondary school placement support
    • With Director of Technology, serves as a main point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and families regarding database system related questions and requests.
    • Trains and supports end users as it relates to data systems
    • Participates in special projects with others and duties vary as needed, independently or with others.
    The mix of duties can vary based on the candidate and experience.

    Qualifications
    The ideal candidate has
    • at least 5 years of experience in independent school or not-for-profit accounting or technology experience.
    • demonstrated expertise in Blackbaud’s product line including K-12 Education Management, NXT/Raiser’s Edge; Google Suite; Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
    • the ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects and work activities.
    • demonstrated leadership and management ability.
    • excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
    • strong organization and time management skills.
    • valued interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service.

  • Extended-Day "Owl's Nest" Program Teacher

    The Country School is hiring a teacher for our extended day “Owl’s Nest” and school vacation programs. The aide will
    • report to the Owl's Nest Director, 2:30 - 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday
    • work with children ages 3 - 14
    • collaborate with the other aftercare workers
    • be a creative self-starter

  • After-School Instrumental Music Teachers

    The Country School, Madison, CT, is hiring after-school instrumental music teachers for individual lessons as part of our Young Musicians Program.  Primary instruments are piano and violin, but other instruments are welcomed as well depending on community interest.

    The teachers will have scheduled lessons on days and at time available between 3:15 - 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday as needed.

    The successful candidate will enjoy working with children ages 3 - 14, be a self-starter, have good references, and have the ability to communicate well via email. Compensation is a competitive rate per lesson.

  • Substitute Teachers

    The Country School seeks Guest Teachers for PreSchool - 8th Grade classes. The Country School is an independent day school with small class sizes and a supportive community. Responsibilities beyond the classroom may include lunch and recess duty and/or study hall. Make a difference in children’s lives while earning competitive pay. EOE
