  • Director of Technology and Innovation

    The Country School is seeking a Director of Technology and Innovation, to begin June or July 2021 to provide technological leadership to a vibrant community of students and colleagues.​ 

    Reporting to the Head of School and leading and working with dynamic and engaged colleagues, the Director of Technology and Innovation is charged with overseeing the day-to-day technological operations of our school as well as articulating a clear, compelling and innovative vision for academic technology. The Director of Technology and Innovation will assist the faculty in integrating innovative technologies to support and enhance learning. 

    Ideal candidates for this position will:
    • support the organizational, academic, and emotional needs of students
    • show a commitment to the issues of diversity, inclusion, and equity
    • work collaboratively with other faculty members
    • maintain current as well as envision and orchestrate academic technology initiatives 
    • organize and support high-quality professional development opportunities that are focused, aligned to the school’s, and support effective teaching with respect to technology
    • develop, coordinate, and teach workshops and classes on the instructional and administrative applications of various technologies 
    • provide course oversight of our PS-8 technology, integration of tech practices and applications, and global technology trends
    • provide technical curriculum leadership and assistance regarding device usage, software applications, and the general instructional use of technology in the classroom 
    • establish systems for educators to access, preview, or receive training in hardware usage and software applications 
    • have proficiency with Blackbaud
    • will oversee the work of the school’s vendor technologists
    • troubleshoot problems relating to hardware and software with an understanding of Active Directory, MDM, WiFi, and fiber optics
    We seek teachers and administrators who are dynamic and committed to professional growth in their discipline and teaching practice, who have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree although a master’s degree is preferred.   • Elementary School Teachers

    The Country School is seeking Elementary School Teachers for potential 1st or 2nd Grade openings.

    Ideal candidates for this position will:
    • demonstrate: 
      • mastery of subject matter and instructional skills; 
      • confidence in teaching young learners language arts and mathematics
    • show a commitment to the issues of diversity, inclusion, and equity
    • be comfortable with technology in the classroom, especially if The Country School needs to move to distance learning
    • engage in cross-disciplinary STEAM units
    • create a dynamic and inspiring classroom
    • create partnerships with parents
    • support the organizational, academic, and emotional needs of students
    • work collaboratively with other faculty members
    • commit to their own professional growth and reflection

  • Instrumental Music Teacher

    The Country School is seeking a full-time or part-time Instrumental Music Teacher to begin September 2021.​ The Country School is an independent, co-educational day school with current enrollment of 215 students in grades PS-8th. We are committed to graduating ethical, confident leaders who possess a strong sense of purpose and we offer a substantial need-based financial aid program to support students from a range of socio-economic backgrounds. 

    Ideal candidates for this position:
    • Directs the overall program of instrumental music and band for the Middle School (grades 5-8). 
    • Coordinates and manages the Young Artists private lessons program, which offers a variety of after-school music opportunities for students.
    • Recruits and guides the Young Artists instructors.
    • Provides students with an opportunity to participate in extracurricular band activities, including concerts.
    • Prepares students and any required documents for auditions and competitions, including the CT Music Educators’ Association Southern Region Music Festival. 
    • Teaches general music classes, as needed.
    • Maintains an accurate inventory of school-owned instruments. 
    • Controls the storage and use of school-owned equipment and materials; makes minor adjustments and requests repairs to instruments as required. 
    • Submits budget needs annually in accordance with established timelines and guidelines.
    • Orders all supplies and materials necessary for band-related activities. 
    • Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned. 
    • Accomplishes other duties as assigned by the administration.

    • Demonstrates expertise in knowledge and teaching of instrumental music.
    • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. 
    • Strong communication, public relations, collaboration and interpersonal skills. 
    • Ability to write reports and correspondence consistent with the duties of this position.
    • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships; demonstrates a commitment to teamwork.

  • Middle School Mathematics Teacher

  • Substitute Teachers

    The Country School seeks Guest Teachers for PreSchool - 8th Grade classes. The Country School is an independent day school with small class sizes and a supportive community.
