Available Positions

School Counselor and Director of Diversity and/or Multicultural Affairs or Director of Environmental Sustainability
The Country School seeks to create a new part-time position of School Counselor with the possibility of full-time employment by additionally serving as the Director of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs and/or the Director of Environmental Sustainability (depending on the final candidate’s background and interests). The hired individual will work with students, teachers, and parents.

The School Counselor is responsible for providing a comprehensive school counseling program that is preventive in design and responsive to students in the areas of academic achievement and personal and social development. The individual also serves as a consultant to educators, families and community partners. There may be an opportunity to also support students with executive function challenges in one on one or small group settings as the School Counselor.

The Director of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs uses responsive and proactive strategies to establish relationships and collaborate with educators, students, families, and community partners that reflect recognition of and respect for each individual and promotes an understanding and appreciation of diverse populations and cultures. The colleague provides support and programming for the school community on areas related to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion and class, assisting with implementation of a comprehensive set of programs, services and activities that develop cultural competence around issues of multiculturalism, equity, inclusion and social justice as it relates to The Country School Community.

The Director of Environmental Sustainability works with students, teachers, the administration and parents to reduce the school’s reliance on non-renewable resources and build as part of our signature Leadership Program the students’ role as caretakers of the Earth.
