  • Elementary School Teachers

    The Country School is seeking Elementary School Teachers for potential openings in our K-3 Lower School Division.
    Ideal candidates for this position will:
    • demonstrate:
      • mastery of instructional skills and assessments,
      • teaching young learners language arts and mathematics
    • show a commitment to the issues of diversity, inclusion, and equity
    • be comfortable with technology in the classroom
    • engage in cross-disciplinary STEAM units
    • support the organizational, academic, and emotional needs of students
    • work collaboratively with other faculty members
    • commit to their own professional growth and reflection
    We seek teachers who have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree although a master’s degree is preferred. We require at least two years of teaching experience.

  • Cleaning Specialist

    The position includes general housekeeping of classrooms and offices, floors, surfaces, including sweeping, washing or vacuuming, washing or dusting, emptying trash and recycling, etc. as well as cleaning bathrooms and small kitchen areas. Position can be expanded to include some special projects such as cleaning windows or deep cleaning or any other light maintenance or janitorial work.

    Twenty hours a week, 2 to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday in a pleasant environment with great team members.

    School, maintenance or janitorial experience is very helpful and preferred, other related skills are a plus. Position includes a variety of assignments over campus with seven buildings. Please email resume or work history and references to Karen Cunningham.
     
  • Part-Time Teacher for After-School Homework Haven Program

    The Country School is hiring an After School Teacher for our extended day Homework Haven program. Homework Haven is an opt-in study hall for students in 5th-8th Grade from 3:30-5 p.m.

    The successful candidate will enjoy working with Middle School children, be organized, and have good references. Compensation is a competitive hourly rate.

    The teacher will assume the following responsibilities:
    • 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Mondays throughout the academic year
    • assume other duties at the request of the Head of School and/or Director of The Country School’s after care program.

  • Extended-Day "Owl's Nest" Program Teacher

    The Country School is hiring a teacher for our extended day “Owl’s Nest” and school vacation programs. The aide will
    • report to the Owl's Nest Director, 2:30 - 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday
    • work with children ages 3 - 14
    • collaborate with the other aftercare workers
    • be a creative self-starter

  • After-School Instrumental Music Teachers

    The Country School, Madison, CT, is hiring after-school instrumental music teachers for individual lessons as part of our Young Musicians Program.  Primary instruments are piano and violin, but other instruments are welcomed as well depending on community interest.

    The teachers will have scheduled lessons on days and at time available between 3:15 - 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday as needed.

    The successful candidate will enjoy working with children ages 3 - 14, be a self-starter, have good references, and have the ability to communicate well via email. Compensation is a competitive rate per lesson.

  • Substitute Teachers

    The Country School seeks Guest Teachers for PreSchool - 8th Grade classes. The Country School is an independent day school with small class sizes and a supportive community. Responsibilities beyond the classroom may include lunch and recess duty and/or study hall. Make a difference in children’s lives while earning competitive pay. EOE
