Girls' Soccer vs. Foote

Girls' Soccer Coaches
Sunny skies, autumnal temps, and an exhilarating bus ride led by Joelle Goetz; it was the makings of a perfect game day. TCS approached the field and couldn’t help but notice the size of their opponents. Were these really the same players we had been up against a week ago?
Within the first five minutes of game time, Foote scored. Shortly after, the skies opened up and rain brought a new element to the game. Responding to the change of events, 7th grader, Claire M took the ball to Foote’s goal and scored for TCS. Supporting the defense, Simone N and Lillian C worked endlessly to get the ball in Foote’s territory. Supporting their efforts, midfielder, Quinn F made a textbook pass to Caitlin S, putting TCS in the lead for the first time to end the half.
In the second half of the game, with no subs available, Country worked hard to defend their territory. Goalkeeper, Charlotte L dove on the ball numerous times, preventing Foote from scoring again. Additionally, Madelyn S and Oakley M did their best to keep the ball away from their opponents, even kicking out of bounds at times. Drenched, muddied, and exhausted, Vivian P and Emmy L continued to work to keep the ball in Country’s position, but regardless of their strong efforts, Foote scored again.
Dampened in clothes, but not in spirit, TCS ended the game with a tied score. The 6th and 7th-grade girls went home tired but showed their opponents and fans that they are a determined, fierce group of competitors.
