Girls' Soccer Continue Unbeaten Season with Tie Against Hopkins

Wednesday’s matchup against Hopkins was by far our toughest game yet—both in terms of competition and because we were missing several players. Still, the girls started strong and scored two incredible goals from Caitlin and Quinn.
We began the game late, and with four players having to leave early, we played the entire second half a player down. Aggie and Charlie, our fierce fifth graders, played the whole second half and rose to the challenge against a very strong opponent. Maddie and Maria did an excellent job teaming up to mark Hopkins’ best player, and the difference was immediately noticeable—their teamwork significantly reduced that player’s scoring chances.
Norah and Lucy were everywhere—literally covering the entire field and doing their absolute best to fill in wherever they were needed, from goal to goal. Veronica was a rockstar, stepping into defense in the second half and making a huge impact. Emily made several incredible saves in goal that kept us in the game. Emmy worked tirelessly at center midfield, anticipating plays and getting to nearly every ball first. Caitlin was, as always, ready to step into whichever position she was needed most, and her coaches couldn’t be prouder.
Even though we were short-handed, every player on the field gave everything they had and went above and beyond to hold off Hopkins’ offense. The coaches couldn’t be prouder of their heart, hustle, and teamwork throughout such a demanding game. We’ll face Hopkins again later this season—and we can’t wait for the rematch!
Coach Gunther and Coach Adkins are so incredibly proud.
