Country Girls’ Soccer Start the Season with a Win!

Yesterday’s game was one for the history books! Country came out victorious against Christian Heritage who had been undefeated the last 3 seasons—and it was a full team effort that made it happen.

At center midfield, Veronica and Emmy worked seamlessly together, with one pushing forward on the attack while the other held back to strengthen the defense. Vivian stepped into a new role marking Christian Heritage’s best player and was an absolute champion. Quinn not only assisted in guarding their top players and plugging critical gaps in our defense, but she also scored a key goal midway through the game. From that moment on, Country’s defense held strong and kept the score from ever becoming a 1–1 tie.

Francesca delivered a perfect corner kick and showed grit in maintaining control of the ball while defending against some very tough players. Our forwards, Caitlin and Oakley, took incredible shots on goal that had the sidelines (and the coaches!) on the edge of their seats. The younger players showed incredible courage as well—Charlie and Aggie, both 5th graders, rose to the challenge against some very aggressive opponents. On defense, Maria, Maddie, Sadie, and Charlotte stood their ground with strength and determination, ensuring the other team never found the back of the net.

Country came ready, played with heart, and walked away with a well-deserved victory.

Coaches Gunther and Adkins were so incredibly proud and happy at the end of their first game.
