60th Anniversary Merit Scholarship
In celebration of The Country School's 60th Anniversary, the Board of Trustees provides a $10,000 merit scholarship to a student applying for admission to Grades 4-8 for the fall of 2018. Additional scholarships will be offered to students entering those grades based on applicants' qualifications.
The recipient of the $10,000 Merit Scholarship will be selected on the basis of academic merit and personal promise as demonstrated by performance on school records, in an interview, and on the Merit Scholarship test. Finalists will be asked to write an essay describing how a Country School education might benefit him or her and will spend a day on campus. The scholarship recipient and other financial aid award winners will be notified by the first week of March.
As of June 2018, in a time of educational uncertainty with some area schools closing, The Country School's Board of Trustees is providing funds for additional merit scholarships of $5000, $3000 and $1000 to at least three recipients.
The 60th Anniversary Merit Scholarship is for new students and is renewed each year that the students are enrolled at The Country School, provided the recipients stay in strong academic standing and consistently demonstrate good citizenship. It is The Country School's expectation that the Merit Scholarship recipients will contribute significantly to the life of The Country School, creating a stronger overall experience for all students. Additional financial aid may be available based upon need.
