OWLS SOAR TO VICTORY: TCS COED SOCCER vs PINE POINT

MADISON — On a crisp, clear September afternoon, the The Country School (TCS) 6th, 7th and 8th-grade Coed Soccer Team secured a thrilling 3-1 victory against a formidable Pine Point squad, powered by a relentless defense and an explosive transition offense.

Collins Holds the Line Early

Pine Point opened the match with immediate ferocity, launching a heavy attack and testing the TCS backline early. However, Owls goalkeeper Sam Collins delivered an exceptional performance between the posts, making crucial saves to neutralize the initial onslaught and keep Pine Point off the scoreboard.

Scotney Spark Ignition

With Collins anchoring the defense, the Owls' offense found its rhythm halfway through the first half. Greta Scotney broke the deadlock, unleashing a spectacular strike from outside the 18-yard box to put TCS up 1-0.
Minutes later, Scotney turned playmaker, delivering a precise assist to Mila, who buried the ball into the back of the net to extend the lead to 2-0 just before halftime.

Defense Fuels the Midfield

The structural foundation of the win belonged to the fullback line. A lockdown defensive effort led by Ben Gelo, Jake Svitila, Gideon McDonough, Maria Rogers, Emma Stanat, and Sadie Sharp completely stifled Pine Point’s counter-attacks in the second half.
This defensive wall allowed the TCS midfield to dictate the tempo and create a third and final goal. Emily Antman capitalized on a brilliant assist from Aggie Collins, sealing the game at 3-0.

A Total Team Triumph

Coaches praised the depth of the roster, noting that a massive wave of contributions from the bench solidified the performance as a "total team victory. The Owls will look to carry this momentum into next week as they prepare for a highly anticipated away match against Williams on Tuesday, October 6th. Congratulations to all the players on an outstanding game!
