    Airplane Engineers

Soar through the summer with your own hand-made aircrafts! Your Hobby Quest flight captain will teach you how to build helicopters, gliders and even motorized planes. By the end of the week you’ll know all about how planes fly and what each part of the airplane is for. You’ll even take your planes outside and see them fly! Children learn fundamental STEM concepts of aviation and valuable skills like following step-by-step instructions, measuring and sanding. Program fee includes all materials, and children take home every plane they build.
  • Colonial Days

Hear Ye Campers! Join us at The Country School as we wind back the clock to the Colonial times for our Colonial Days at TCS! We'll take a walk back in time and learn how the children in the Colonial era learned, worked and how they played too! We'll explore how they helped their families in their day to day living, while utilizing the beautiful grounds of The Country School garden and surrounding woods where the children may spend time collecting natural items to create their own old fashioned games. Each day will be devoted to learning and playing different Colonial games - all while enjoying the outdoors and remaining safe and socially distant.
  • Cool-ology® at TCS

Spark your creativity, invigorate your problem solving skills, and have a blast with Cool-ology® at the Country School! Cool-ology® offers hands-on, inquiry-based STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) activities that get children really excited about science, engineering, and the world around them. Participants will engage in empathetic problem-solving, creative design, and critical thinking skills to deepen their understanding of core science and engineering principles. Cool-ology®’s TCS camp activities will be conducted safely outdoors (weather permitting). Campers will create amazing works of art using natural objects and chemistry. Participants will engineer a mini water park and investigate and build mini roller coasters. We’ll build rockets powered by a chemical reaction, and much more during this amazing week of exploration and discovery!
  • Introduction to Russian

This two-week program is designed to introduce participants to the Russian language. The program integrates language, art, math, and science and provides exposure to Russian culture. Activities will include vocabulary games, reading and writing short and common words, naming the world around us, dialogues, and scavenger hunts. The overarching project calls for participants to create artwork that infuses Russian into visual art, i.e., craft, collage, and/or writing. This program is designed by a native Russian-speaking teacher for beginners; groups can be randomly assigned or grouped by grade level (grades 1-3 and 4-6). Please Note this is a Two Week Camp
  • Jewelry Making

From beading to friendship bracelets, to shrinky dink pendants, it is going to be a week full of fun and arts & crafts. Students can come with any type of jewelry in mind they want to create or we can come up with ideas all together. The options are endless. There is so much jewelry to make for any student. They can enjoy their jewelry themselves or use them as gifts. No experience is necessary.
  • Lego Mindstorms EV3 Robotics Camp

In this week-long course, the Lego Mindstorms EV3 system will be used to introduce campers to block programming and mechanical design. By building robots to complete exciting daily design challenges like navigating mazes, competing in fun games of tug-of-war or trying their (robotic) hand at ping-pong, campers will gain hands-on engineering and programming experience, while sharpening logical reasoning, pattern recognition, and modeling simulation skills. They will also learn how to integrate and combine motors, sensors, and gears, to build interactive robots.
  • Running Camp

Spend five days at the start of summer (and, if desired, then two days a week throughout the summer) learning about and practicing the greatest and oldest sport in the world—cross-country and distance running. Featuring elite coaches, individualized instruction and scenic runs that often end with a swim, you’ll walk away—no, you’ll run away!—with an unforgettable experience and fine-tuned skills, hungry for the fall season to start. Our hands-on approach and expertise make this camp unique, whether you are a good runner trying to become great or a novice runner just learning the sport. Our coaches possess deep skills, both in the sport of running and as educators working with children. Your child will leave our camp at the end of the week or end of the summer a better athlete and a more confident student. We teach the campers about running, discipline, and motivation.
  • Summer Owlets

Every day brings a new adventure for our littlest owls with this PS-K camp. Your little one will learn, create and grow in a rich environment full of collaboration, activities, discovery and the nurturing the wonder of childhood. A true Country School offering!
    • Monday - Mother Nature
    • Tuesday - Field Games
    • Wednesday - Wacky Science
    • Thursday - Water Works
    • Friday - Camp Out
  • TCS Mathnasium Summer Camp

Have you ever seen an architectural blueprint and wondered how to read it? In this program, you’ll learn about scale factors, reading blueprints, and eventually how to create your own! The course will culminate in a design-your-own-structure showcase where the students will make their own blueprints to scale. Students will also work on Mathnasium Workout Book materials to develop their mental math, quantitative analysis, and proportional thinking.
  • Ultimate Frisbee and Disc Golf

Spend your summer mornings with longtime Ultimate Coach, Chris Wallack learning and playing two of the fastest growing sports and recreational activities in the world. The Country School has two Ultimate fields and a nine hole disc golf course on the 23 acre property. No equipment is needed, bring your passion and spirit to learn these two great sports activities.

    Introduction to Russian

  • Nature Camp

The Country School's 23-acre campus, with multiple trail entries throughout the woods, make it the perfect spot to observe and learn about nature. In addition to our daily hikes and activities in the woods, we will use nature to create crafts. We hope students leave camp with a new understanding of Earth and a great appreciation of our natural world!
  • Summer Owlets

Every day brings a new adventure for our littlest owls with this PS-K camp. Your little one will learn, create and grow in a rich environment full of collaboration, activities, discovery and the nurturing the wonder of childhood. A true Country School offering!

  • Word Play: Creative Writing

This camp will provide a fun and thoughtful way for students to explore their world – and express themselves – through the written word. We will dabble in poetry, food reviews, nature writing, and flash fiction, to name a few, with activities designed to hook beginning writers and stretch those with more experience. Each camper will have the chance to craft a short story or lay out a picture book as a longer project. Kids will become comfortable sharing their work with a supportive, immediate audience and will benefit from collaboration and feedback from their peers. Far from being a static, in-your-seat experience, young writers should come prepared for outdoor exploration and observation, candy taste-tests, dance parties, yoga, and more! Come join us and learn just how much fun playing with words can be!
  • Young Artists' Workshop

Young Actor’s Workshop is a staple for the TCS Summer experience. Theater skills are Life skills. In this workshop we will be working on scenes and monologues with a focus on creating characters and telling stories. The week will culminate in a performance to be shared with friends and family. Students will walk away with a renewed sense of self confidence that they will carry with them on and off the stage.

    Exercise Your Math Brain

Exercise your brain during a fun math workshop! Participants will engage in word problems that will strengthen algebraic thinking. They will strengthen their mental math capabilities and further develop the common sense approach to math that is present in successful math students. Math thinking will be challenged and enhanced, and students will further make sense of the math they are doing by writing about it.
