Varsity Baseball vs Hopkins School

Coach Burdge
The baseball team lost another great game to Hopkins 3-0. While we couldn’t string together enough hits to score, there were a lot of things we did well. We had 4 different pitchers on the mound, each throwing solid innings. Cade started, going 2 innings and striking out 3. Henry followed, and got out of a bases-loaded jam without allowing a run. Braden relieved Henry, throwing 2 innings, allowing 3 runs, and striking out 3. Charlie O. closed out the game for us, striking out 2 in one scoreless inning. At the plate, Charlie S. had a great game, with 2 solid hits to right field. We also got hits from Henry and Charlie O. With runners on base in each inning, we made the game competitive and forced Hopkins to play good defense. While some missed opportunities on the base path, and solid Hopkins pitching, prevented us from crossing the plate, we played a really solid game. We look forward to keeping the positive momentum going next Thursday (5/4) at Hamden Hall.
