Heart of the Season Update - Girls Varsity Basketball Improves to 2-2
After starting the season with three games on the road, including a recent hard-fought loss at Hamden Hall on 1/24 (12-27; Maizie (4), Laila (4), Rosie (2) & Claire (2)), the team worked hard in practice to solidify several new offensive and defensive sets. Their work and team chemistry was evident Wednesday 2/1 in their first home game of the season, a 34-19 win against Christian Heritage. Offensive contributions came from many players: Laila (15), Claire (7, including a 3 pointer), Anna (4), Eliza (2), Emily (2) and Rosie (2). Defensively, Laila, Claire and Anna had many key steals, Emily and Rosie showed grit and leadership by shutting down the opponent’s leading scorer, and Maizie, Devri, Mia and Nora contributing impressive hustle. Next week promises to be exciting with two home games on the schedule. We look forward to hosting Pine Point on Tuesday 2/7 at 4:30 and Foote Wednesday 2/8 at 3:45.
