Boys' Varsity A Basketball are The Pine Point Tournament Champions!
The Boys Varsity A Basketball Team are the 2023 Pine Point Tournament Champions!
The Boys Varsity A Team participated in the Pine Point Tournament on Saturday. We started the tournament with a overtime loss to Hamden Hall. Jake Sigal hit a pivotal three to time the game and force it into overtime. Our second game was a loss to hosts, Pine Point. Williams, who were guaranteed the #1 seed, decided not to play their starters against us, giving us a 1-2 record in the round robin.
As the #4 seed, we played Williams in the semi-final. Our high pressure defense forced turnovers, and easy fast break points going the other way. We surprised the whole gym with a win and trip to the finals.
In the finals, we met Hamden Hall for the third time all season. Again, our high pressure defense was the difference, and we were able to pull out a 5 point victory.
