Boys Varsity Basketball Travel to Stonington
The second game of the season saw our team fall to Pine Point, 31–49. Pine Point jumped out to an early lead behind strong, physical play from their post players, which put us on our heels in the first half. As the game progressed, however, our defense made important adjustments. Jimmy stepped up with excellent effort and positioning, doing a great job limiting their primary post scorer and making entry passes much more difficult.
Team defense improved significantly as the game went on, with better communication and more consistent help-side awareness. We were able to create multiple fast-break opportunities off steals and rebounds, but we struggled to convert those chances into points, which made it hard to close the gap on the scoreboard. While the final score didn’t reflect it, the game provided many valuable learning moments. The effort and willingness to adjust were encouraging, and this experience will help the team continue to grow as we focus on execution, transition offense, and finishing plays moving forward.
