Varsity Baseball's 2023 Home Opener
The baseball team lost a well-played game to Hamden Hall 5-2. This was a very clean game, especially considering it was our first of the season, and we got contributions from up and down the lineup. Our two runs game in the 3rd inning, off of hits from Braden and Charlie O. Henry and Cade scored the runs, after getting on base on walks. Working the count and solid baserunning were key to our success in this game, as we had runners in scoring position in nearly every inning. We also got hits from Charlie O., Andrew, Braden, and Liam. On the mound, Cade started for us, throwing 4 solid innings. While they had a powerful lineup, he was often able to get out of trouble, allowing only 3 earned runs. He also struck out an impressive 6 Hamden Hall batters. Henry finished the game for us, allowing only 1 run in the 5th inning. All in all, the team can walk away really pleased with their first performance, as they competed well against a strong team. We look forward to our next game on April 26 against Hopkins!
