Jake’s big day helps Country to Championship!
The Country School Ultimate team won the inaugural Aces at Chase Ultimate tournament winning four games, including a time limit win over IDS in the final.
Throughout the day it was clear domination with the Owls winning 15-2, 15-3, 10-3 and 11-4 in the finals.
Four Country players were awarded the Spirit of the Game award: Maddy, Natalie, Anna, and Liam.
The team brought 11 players to the tournament at
the Waterbury campus and every player scored or assisted throughout the four games over three hours of full out Ultimate playing.
A steady scorer all season, Jake saved some of his best stuff for the tournament, scoring 10 times while one of the captains, and the season leading assist leader Milo put forth 14 assists and six goals to tally 20 points on the day. Also finding the end zone was a combination of players scoring multiple times: Nat (8), Henry/Anna (6), and Maddy (4). Adding assists were many including Liam (7), and Luca/ Chris with 6 each.
The tournament was sooooooooo much fun, there was talk about hosting at TCS possibly in the future!
