Spanish Teacher: Do you thrive on transforming children’s lives through Spanish? If so, The Country School wants to know about you as we seek a teacher to instruct in Spanish from Grades 1 through 8, with French proficiency preferred but not required. The successful teacher will have high energy, cooperate well with others, and enjoy working with talented students over many years. Middle School Science Long-Term Substitute: The Country School seeks a skilled, collaborative, energetic science teacher to work with talented students in Grades 6 through 8 for a long-term substitute position (September through December 2017). A bachelor’s degree in science, education, or other related field is required. A master’s degree is preferred. Prior experience teaching science is also strongly preferred. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable integrating technology into the classroom and be open to collaborating with colleagues to create STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts Mathematics) lessons and units. Elementary Teachers: The Country School seeks as many as three collaborative, energetic teachers to work with talented students in self-contained and semi-departmentalized classrooms in grades kindergarten through 5th Grade. The successful candidates will enjoy working in partnership with parents and other teachers; will be effective with technology integration, reading and writing workshop and word study, differentiated math instruction, and will thrive on professional growth and innovation. Experience with Responsive Classroom, STEAM or STEM, and knowledge of and experience using a variety of assessments for planning and instruction are all preferred. Substitute Teachers: The Country School seeks Guest Teachers for PreSchool - 8th Grade classes. The Country School is an independent day school with small class sizes and a supportive community.
