Varsity Girls earn their first win of the season at Foote 18-4!

Thanks to tenacious defense, smart offense and unselfish passing, the Varsity Girls evened up their season record to 1-1 with a strong performance against the Foote School. Led by guards Claire (6 pts, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 8 steals), Laila (8 pts, 12 rebounds, 10 steals), Anna (2 pts, 6 rebounds, 5 steals) and Mia (2 pts, 2 steals), the whole team played tough player-to-player defense then adjusted very successfully to running a 3-2 zone, agreeing afterwards that good defense leads to offensive opportunities. We look forward to our next game away at Hamden Hall 1/24, then returning to DeFrances gym and welcoming our fans for home games on 2/1, 2/7 and 2/8.
