Boys Junior Varsity - "Everyone’s hard work in these past few months paid off with a polished final game."

The JV Boys Basketball team lost to IDS 29-26. In our best-played and most exciting game, we ended the season on a really positive note. Everyone’s hard work in these past few months paid off with a polished final game. The team made some really nice passes, ran the fast-break efficiently, and got some big rebounds. Our shooting also improved, with 6 different players scoring: Gabe (7 points), Charlie O. (6) Connor (5), Will P. (4), and Charlie S. and Ryan (2 points each). Our toughness on the boards also kept us in the game, and we got multiple rebounds from Keve, Charlie O. Jacob, and Will C.. All of this helped to keep the game close from start to finish, and we even held a lead in the 2nd quarter. We were down by 4 to start the 4th quarter, and IDS made a run that could have put the game out of reach. But we fought back, scoring 9 points to cut the game to three. With only a few seconds left and the ball beneath our basket, we ran a beautiful play, and fell just short of tying the game. The result should in no way tarnish a great game and a great season. Each player improved mightily from our first practices in December, and everyone should be proud of how far they have come as basketball players. Coach Wainio and I thank them for a fun and memorable season.
