Excitement is building for Synergy, the TEDxTheCountrySchool conference being held on campus on Saturday, March 3 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. The TEDx team, led by Country School teacher Laura Morrison and alumnus Ben Ballard '08, has lined up an exciting list of speakers, who will deliver inspiring talks around the theme of Synergy.
Throughout the morning, attendees will hear how cooperation and teamwork elicit results and can positively affect their lives. There will also be hands-on Synergy-related activities. There will be no admission fee for children under the age of 18; adult tickets can be purchased at the door for $15, or in advance for $10 at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/
Synergy marks the second time The Country School has held a TEDx conference on campus. The inaugural conference, Spindrift, held in 2016 and organized by alumna Marina Sachs '07, was an enormous success. Eight speakers joined us to talk about an array of topics, ranging from the upside of rejection to the benefits of procrastination, questions of identity to the ethics of the internet. For more about Spindrift, see https://www.thecountryschool.org/tedx.
Below, a talk delivered by Sophia Harvey '07: Rejection, It's a Good Thing.
Stay tuned for news about the speakers for this year's conference. (We hear there's an all-star lineup.) In the meantime, with a little over a week to go, Ben Ballard and Laura Morrison are getting into the TEDx spirit. Many thanks to Ben and Laura and the entire TEDx team for their leadership.
