If you tuned in to the National Geographic Channel recently, you might have spotted a familiar face. Yes, that was Emily Ballard '12 in Expedition Amelia, a new documentary which takes viewers on a journey to the remote island of Nikumaroro in the Western Pacific Ocean to try to answer the question of what really happened to Amelia Earhart.

Joining Allison Fundis on the expedition was renowned explorer Robert Ballard, AKA Emily's dad, the man who found the wreck of the Titanic, and Emily herself. You can catch a glimpse of Emily and learn more about the expedition in this short preview. Tune in to the National Geographic Channel on October 24 at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. and October 26 at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to watch the complete documentary when it re-airs.

Country School students had a chance to hear from Emily in person last spring when she visited campus to deliver an Elmore Leadership talk. Emily shared memories of her years as a Country School student and then showed Robert Ballard: The Man Who Found the Titanic, the documentary she made about her father and the accomplishments and challenges we all face in life. For more about Emily's visit to her old stomping grounds, click here. Thanks for continuing to share your adventures with us, Emily!
