John W. Cropp
John W. Cropp P '14, '18, Ph.D., is a Global Project Leader at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals and has been involved in pharmaceutical product development for more than 20 years. After teaching at the University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy, John joined Bayer Pharmaceuticals where he developed new medicines and pharmaceutical products and was involved in commercial pharmaceutical drug product scale-up and manufacture. Following an international assignment in Germany, John moved back to Connecticut and joined Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals. John currently manages large global multi-disciplinary teams in developing and implementing strategies to develop new pharmaceutical products from inception in research to commercial launch.
John has been actively involved in various community organizations over the years and currently serves as President of the Marlins Swim Team Parents Organization at the Westbrook Valley Shore YMCA. John is also a Board Member of the Valley Shore YMCA and a member of the Board’s Financial Development Committee.
John received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the University of Maryland, M.S. in Industrial Pharmacy, M.B.A., and B.S. in Pharmacy from Duquesne University. John is a board certified pharmacist and member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. John and his wife, Anne, reside in Madison with their two daughters.
