"Your Gift Matters to Our Students"

    TCS Online Giving

    Outdoor Education Program

"At The Country School, we strive to empower young people to reach their highest, not only in school but also in life."

It's simple. Our children are worth it.

What is the Annual Giving Campaign? The Annual Giving Campaign consists of several funds, including the Annual Fund, the Endowment Fund, the Founders' Promise Fund, and the Heritage Society.

Unrestricted gifts are among the most valuable to TCS, because they allow the school to allocate funds wherever the need is greatest, and to take advantage of unique opportunities as they arise. Your unrestricted contribution may be used to support costs associated with financial aid, innovations in teaching, computer technology, facilities, and much more.

The Endowment Fund has been established to provide a permanent source of income to support the long-term purposes of the school. The investment objectives and management strategies of the fund are designed to preserve and enhance the principal value, maintaining purchasing power over time, while providing consistent and dependable revenues to the operating budget.

    Nationally recognized science program

What is the Annual Fund? The Annual Fund sustains the Country School's commitment to a quality education. It is a campaign (conducted from July through the following June) that provides essential funds for the day-to-day operations of the school. The Annual Fund supports all school programs - academics, athletics, the arts, and more. Annual fund donations give TCS a critical edge in providing an exemplary secondary school preparatory education.

    Q. Can I give to a TCS program or cause?Yes. In addition to giving to the Annual Fund, a vital part of our operating budget, you may direct your gift to the Endowment Fund (typically supported by 8th grade families), The Founders' Promise Fund for Scholarship (tuition assistance), other restricted needs of the school or the Heritage Society (planned giving). We are here to assist you and welcome further discussion. Please contact: Jeanne Boyer Roy, Director, 203.421.3113.x124 or jroy@thecountryschool.org. You can make your gift online at www.thecountryschool.org/supportTCS.html.

    Learning beyond the classroom

    Q. Why do we need an Annual Fund?
As at other independent schools, full tuition and fees cover only part of the actual annual cost to educate a Country School student. The Annual Fund is a campaign of voluntary giving that makes up the difference between tuition revenues and the total operating costs. It is a key component of the annual budget, but, unlike tuition, Annual Fund gifts are tax-deductible.

    Q. Who participates in the Annual Fund?
The Country School counts on its entire community - parents, faculty and staff, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, friends, trustees, and former trustees - who believe in a superior TCS education. Last year, every single teacher, administrator, staff member, trustee contributed, and we hope to see 100% participation from current families as well. Participation in the Annual Fund is a demonstration of our commitment to excellence.

    Q. Why is participation important?
Strong parent participation in our Annual Fund sends a very positive message to all members of our community - from alumni and grandparents to our own faculty and staff. Every gift helps us reach our goal. As we begin seeking more grants, our levels of participation will be considered important criteria to indicate that we are worthy recipients - and that we are contributing our fair share of support.

    Q. What are our donor recognition categories?

    CATEGORY AMOUNT
    Leadership Circle $25,000.00 and above
    Trustees Circle $15,000.00 and above
Head of School Circle $10,000 and above
Leaning Tree Circle $5,000 and above
    Archimedes Circle $3,000 and above
    1955 Society $1,955 and above
    Benefactor $1,000 and above
    Patron $500 and above
    Sponsor $499 and below

    Q. How much of a difference can my gift make?

TCS is so unique and so cherished due to a number of things. It is a small school, by design. But with this advantage comes a reality. A small school means fewer possible gifts. While the number of gifts is therefore less than a much larger school the need is large. Every gift counts! Your participation also shows a vote of confidence in the school, a sign that each constituency understands and invests in their child's educational experience. It is because of this understanding and because many families have found the joy of realizing that their dollar-every dollar means so much, that they have made The Country School their number one choice for philanthropic giving. Your gift keeps giving when you have made a gift to the community.
