Through learning basic rhythms, exploring instruments, singing, and outdoor jam sessions, our camp fosters a love for music that ensures a harmonious blend of education and excitement.
Camp instructor Wiley Bartels, a senior at McGill University with a major in Performance Jazz, will guide campers through the history, elements, and unique characteristics of each music style. Embark on this melodic adventure, and let the exploration of sounds create a summer of joy!
Create Your Own Coloring Book

Have you ever wanted to improve your drawing ability, but you're not sure where to start? If so, Create Your Own Coloring Book camp is the place for you! Dive into a week-long artistic adventure in which budding artists will learn to transform their ideas into delightful coloring masterpieces. Through guided sessions, campers will explore various drawing techniques, storytelling, and thematic prompts to craft their unique coloring book pages. From brainstorming characters to designing intricate patterns, every day offers new inspiration and artistic discoveries. The week will culminate in a personalized coloring book creation, showcasing their creativity and imagination.

Owlets Gold

These kids might be little, but they will have big fun at this camp. Each week, (offered for five weeks; come to one or all!) will focus on a new theme with lessons and activities. This Country School alumna and returning camp counselor has created fun mini lessons, arts and crafts projects, along with songs and stories for the youngest kids on campus.
All participants of this camp must be 3 years of age by 6/20/24 and fully potty trained.
Owlets Blue

Get ready for a week of learning, crafting, and playing! The campers’ mornings will be filled with creative activities. Like Owlets Gold, this camp will run all five weeks. Join returning Country School Camp Counselor Maeve for one or all of them. Each week will be devoted to a different theme.

Summer Olympics Camp

Get ready for a week filled with laughter, sportsmanship, and unforgettable memories. Each day will focus on a different facet of the Olympics. Opening Ceremony Bonanza: Kids will march in their own mini parade, waving flags, and lighting the Olympic Torch to officially mark the beginning of their incredible journey. Diverse Sporting Extravaganza: From obstacle course showdowns to dazzling gymnastics routines, our camp offers a smorgasbord of sports for every budding athlete. From kick ball to racing on the Country School trails, each day brings a new adventure. Crafty Olympic Village: Unleash the creativity! Little hands will craft their own Olympic medals, design personalized team banners, and create colorful mascots to represent their unique teams. The Olympic Village will be buzzing with artistic flair! Friendship Medal Ceremony: At the heart of it all is the spirit of friendship! Each child will receive a Friendship Medal, honoring the bonds they've formed and the teamwork that made the camp an unforgettable experience. Young Actors’ Workshop

Country School's Drama Teacher, hosts! Young Actor’s Workshop is a staple for the Country School Summer experience. Theater skills are Life skills. In this workshop we will be working on scenes and monologues with a focus on crafting characters and telling stories. The week will culminate in a performance to be shared with friends and family. Students will walk away with a renewed sense of self confidence that they will carry with them on and off the stage.
Under the Sea

Dive into a world of aquatic wonders. This immersive and engaging camp is designed to transport campers to the depths of the ocean where they will embark on a journey filled with excitement, discovery, and marine magic. These marine explorers will participate in treasure hunts and water games.
Create Your Own Storybook
Instructor: Skylar Bartels, Country School Teacher
Ages: 6-9
Cost: $240
In this camp children will harness their imaginations, express their unique ideas, and practice collaborating with others as they write and illustrate, and bind their own storybook as they watch their imaginations come to life. They will learn about the importance of storytelling and the roles it has historically played around the world. Campers will look at some of their own favorite bedtime stories together and will learn about the elements that make stories timeless.
Skylar Bartels is a Country School teacher and Skidmore College graduate with a Studio Arts degree.
Running Camp
Instructor: Mr. Fixx, Veteran Runner and Country School Head of School
Ages: 9-14

Spend five days at the start of summer (and, if desired, then two days a week throughout the summer) learning about and practicing the greatest and oldest sport in the world—cross-country and distance running. Our elite coaches who possess deep skills, both in the sport of running and as educators working with children, will provide campers with individualized instruction. Enjoy scenic runs that often end with a swim. Campers will walk away—no, run away!—with an unforgettable experience and fine-tuned skills, hungry for the fall season to start. Our hands-on approach and expertise make this camp unique, whether you are a good runner trying to become great or a novice runner just learning the sport.Your child will leave our camp at the end of the week or end of the summer a better athlete and a more confident student. We teach the campers about running, discipline, and motivation.
Cool-ology® On the Road Adventures STEAM Camp

We're taking STEAM* on the road for this interactive and engaging camp experience! Each day participants will explore a fun, educational site in and around our community. Campers will investigate the plants, animals, and topography at each location. Field trip locations will include Chatfield Hollow State Park, Hammonasset State Park, Bauer Park, Blinnshed Ridge Trail (behind the Country School), and Circle Beach/Grass Island. *STEAM = Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math
