The 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award was presented today to Stephen Davis '70 P '10. During the ceremony, members of the Class of 2014 were officially inducted into the TCS Alumni Association, and 8th Graders unfurled their class banner.

Now She's the One in the Spotlight: The Student Behind "Student of the Week"
For the past two years, an enterprising Middle School student with a fondness for writing has spearheaded the popular "Student of the Week" program, sharing profiles of her schoolmates with the rest of the community. In recent weeks, she has turned her attention to other writers and artists in the student body, compiling submissions for this year's edition of The Country School literary journal.

Four New Students of the Week
The Student of the Week program is an initiative created and entirely carried out by Middle School students to highlight the talents and accomplishments of their peers. As we near the end of the school year, we are pleased to publish four recent Student of the Week profiles.
Spirited, Passionate, and Always Singing: Izzy D.
Taking Advantage of Every Opportunity: Nate I.
Eighth Grader Izzy D. keeps up the morale of her class every day. An eloquent vocalist, Izzy is a member of the TCS Middle School Chorus and the Chamber Chorus, as well as a performer in the United Girls Choir outside of school.
If there's anyone who knows how to take initiative, it's 6th Grader Nate I., who is always willing to try new opportunities.Read more
Setting a Good Example for Those Around Him: Owen W.
Runner, singer, actor, baseball player, and a talented student, 8th Grader Owen W. is a role model to younger TCS students.
A Leader Since the Beginning: 8th Grader Jack F.
Ever since joining TCS in 2nd Grade, Jack F. has done his best to be a leader of the community. Currently an 8th Grader, Jack is a member of the Student Leadership team -- a reflection of his willingness to be a good role model, both in and out of the classroom.

An enthusiastic group of alumni gathered last weekend at the Park Avenue Tavern for an informal NYC alumni reunion. Many thanks to organizers Rebecca Joslow and Joel Glassman, both Class of 2004.
| || | Still Feeling Appreciated
A final thank you to all the parents and students who showed so much gratitude during Teacher Appreciation Week. This week, four teachers received some final presents as part of the week-long celebration. Thanks to the generosity of several families, drawings were held to award four lucky teachers with some special prizes.

Still Seeking Book Donations
Ashwin Dcunha ’12 is still collecting donated books for children in need. If you have gently used books you wish to donate, please deposit them in one of the boxes on campus. Click here for more information about the book drive, which runs through May 28.
