Empathy, hatred, racism, diversity, inclusion, heroism: These were some of the topics Country School students discussed during the school's first-ever IDEA Day (Interpreting Diversity Education through Action). Through a series of workshops, students and teachers in Grades 5-8 devoted the entire day to issues related to diversity.Read more

| || | Enthusiasm Personified: Sydney C. - Student of the Week
If there is one enthusiastic student at TCS, it's 8th Grader Sydney C. She is everyone's cheerleader, and perhaps the most spirited player on every TCS team on which she participates, including soccer, crew, basketball, softball, tennis, and ski club (as a snowboarder), along with being a percussionist in the band.
| || | Summer at The Country School
It may feel like the summer months are a long way off, but plans are well underway for another great session of Summer Fun and Learning at The Country School. During last year's camp, students particicpated in an array of activities - from robotics to reading and writing - and the program was open to both Country School families and the broader community.
| || | Remembering Michelle Noble '03
It is with deep sadness that we share the news that Michelle Noble, a member of The Country School Class of 2003, died following a car accident in Guilford on January 25. We extend condolences to her parents, Laurie and Mark, and remember her fondly for her many contributions to our community.
Town Hall Meeting on Campus Security - February 6
A reminder that all parents and guardians are invited to join us for a Town Hall Meeting on campus security. The meeting will take place in the DeFrancis Gym on February 6 at 6:30 p.m. During the meeting, we will share an update on our campus security plans and also present a panel of experts who will speak to the topic. Among the experts planning to attend are an FBI agent, a local police official, and a child psychologist.

Spring Team Signups
Students in Grades 5-8 who are interested in playing on spring sports teams are asked to please sign up on the sheets outside Mr. Wallack’s office. Please sign up by tomorrow so that Mr. Wallack can plan for the season ahead.
Learn to Row
More than a dozen Middle School students participated in the fall Learn to Row program with the Southeastern Connecticut Rowing Club. If students are interested in participating again, click here to learn about programs being offered this spring.
Girls Basketball Reminder
The girls' varsity team will participate in tournaments on both Saturday February 2 at Pine Point and Saturday February 9 at Mooreland Hill. On both days the school van will leave from school at 7:30 a.m. and return sometime after 3:30 p.m. Mr. Wallack asks all players to please reserve these dates. Good luck girls!
Sign Up for Robotics
All students in Grades 4 through 8 are invited to sign up for the spring robotics session. The program started this week and will run on Wednesday afternoons from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. The program is free of charge and open to all students, regardless of prior experience. To sign up, click here
