Students Organize Bike Ride for Cancer Research
TCS 7th Graders are spearheading a bike ride to support cancer research, and they have created a website that provides information about the ride, allows participants to sign up, presents cancer facts, and features a brief video.

Believe it or not, the summer months are right around the corner and TCS is preparing a dynamic summer program, with a variety of offerings for student and a 21st Century Innovation Teacher Institute for teachers.

Art is Everywhere: Cultural Arts at TCS
The Middle School traveled to New London to hear the U.S. Coast Guard Band, Clark House students will soon engage in a hands-on drumming experience, and the entire school will be treated to a steel drum performance.

TCS artwork has been on display all month at the Scranton Library, and during that time it has appeared on the cover of The Source newspaper and inspired one visitor to inquire whether any of it was for sale.

Tomorrow is a Dress Down Day!
That’s the pronouncement from Kathleen N., an 8th Grader who will have the role of Head of School for the Day tomorrow. Kathleen won the right to serve as Head when she sold more than 20 tickets for the Light Up the Stage Fashion Show, the event held in December to raise funds for the 8th Grade’s graduation gift to the school.
Keep Those Blazers Coming!
The First Annual Blazer Raiser is almost here! April 3, 4, 5 before and after school. Bring in your gently-used, outgrown blazers and buy a replacement for $25! ($5 credit per blazer towards the purchase of its replacement.) Collection days (in the courtyard & gym before and after school) March 8, 9, 28, 29, 30. *Blazers should be in “like new” condition. Think Easter, Grandparents and Special Friends Day, Celebration of the Arts, Prize Day & GRADUATION!! (All for $25!!)

Spring Sports Schedule
The spring sports schedule is up, and this year TCS is fielding boys’ and girls’ lacrosse teams, a co-ed tennis team, a girls’ softball team, and boys’ baseball. Visit the website athletics calendar to check for game times and practice schedules as well as for cancellations. Better yet, sign up for an alert. Spring Robotics Workshop
Sign up for the Spring Robotics Workshop, to be held on Thursdays from 3:15-4:30 beginning March 29 and continuing through May 24. On May 24 fans are invited to watch a challenge course demonstration of the robots built by the students. Click here to sign up.
Mark Your Calendars
Fashion Design Workshop This Saturday - March 31, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the Cafeteria. Join Rebecca Joslow '04 for a Fashion Design Workshop. Open to 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade students, parents, alumni, faculty, and friends. Cost: $25. All proceeds will benefit The Founders' Promise Fund for Scholarship. Design supplies and lunch will be provided. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
Owl's Nest Parent Conference Program - Monday, April 2 12:30PM-6PM.
Please note that Owl's Nest is available during Parent Conferences on Monday, April 2. Care will be provided for any TCS students while their parents are attending a conference. These students may stay in Owl's Nest for the duration of their parents' conferences free of charge. Any time spent in Owl's Nest in addition to that will be billed at the rate of $10 per hour. An afternoon snack is provided. Please escort your child to the cafeteria and sign them in and out with an Owl's Nest teacher. Maureen Gilson asks that parents planning to use Owl’s Nest please leave her a voicemail (203-421-3113, extension 309) to let her know how many students will be attending.
ERB Tests Next Week
A reminder to TCS parents: Students in Grades 3-7 will take ERB Tests in the mornings next week. Rest and a good breakfast are recommended. Click here to read the letter sent to parents about these tests at the end of February: On May 24 in the evening an ERB consultant will come to TCS to talk to parents about the test our children take and score reports will go home.
