March 9, 2017

Thank you to everyone who joined us at BINGO for Books! It was a great way to cap off a week-long celebration of books and reading!

For more from BINGO for Books, click here. HUGE thanks to the PTA, our Middle School volunteers, and our host classes: PreSchool, PreK and Kindergarten! Happy Reading everyone!

On the subject of books and reading, we can't resist sharing this one from last Friday's school-wide Drop Everything And Read. Don't you wonder what has Mr. McGee so engrossed?

Congratulations, Country School musicians!

Sixth Graders Liliana B. (treble choir) and Elke Z. (orchestra), along with 7th Grader Kayla U. (jazz band) and 8th Grader Jane G. (mixed chorus) participated in the CMEA Southern Region Music Festival last weekend. These talented young women were selected to perform following an audition of Middle School musicians from across the region.

An Anchors Away Dress Down Day!

A special invitation from Head of School John Fixx:

Ships at anchor awaiting voyage sometimes celebrate special occasions by flying a rainbow of nautical signal flags and the ship is said to be "dressed." It's a festive and colorful display.

Before our students set sail for spring break, I invite all to "dress" in any nautical form on Friday. This day will reflect the Shipshape theme of our upcoming Spring Gala, to be held on April 21, 2017 at Mystic Seaport. I encourage children to use their imaginations. They may channel their inner explorers, display their marine animal dæmons, capture the spirit of the ocean, or otherwise have fun dressing for Seafarer's Friday.

We look forward to lots of fun seafaring outfits tomorrow!

Dress Down for Heart

Thank you to everyone who wore red and pink during our Dress Down Day for Heart. Together we raised $615 for the American Heart Association.
